In this historical moment, dominated by considerable changes and without any reference points, it is necessary to find a way forward that can lead to a common objective.

The world’s scenario is characterized by global economic practices that bring crisis to monopolistic hegemony until now untouchable, to the internal equilibrium of single nations and between nations, to the customary way of living and of thought, to the production of wealth, to culture organization, to time utilization, to the meaning of the scope of Values itself.

The extent of these economic and financial practices, which influence in a significant way social and political trends, is of such an extent that it cannot be ignored and to continue to make egotistic and advantageous choices consequently evading, the possibility of developing new proposals for a civil and peaceful coexistence.

Humanity is rapidly moving along a chaotic path where, on one side, some nations are able make progress, while on the other sees many countries plunge into the darkness of backwardness and misery.

A disparity is unacceptable for a world that is deemed "civil" and wants to consciously address the major challenges of 21 st century.

We Freemasons cannot let peoples see their identity compromised in the most tragic crisis of traditional societies. Humanity runs like a river without banks and aimless, with numbers growing exponentially leading to denial of the Number One: the Individual!

In the present social chaos Universal Freemasonry cannot withdraw from its obligations  since it is the only institution that in the wake of a secular tradition, can analyze the present to build the foundation of a promising future.

At present the Mediterranean plays a significant role: it is a world of different cultures who must find a common aim, peace between peoples, a policy statement of peaceful coexistence.

Once again, it's up to the Freemason to draw the line between black and white, to give humanity the necessary gateway to the endless quest; because the borders of the knowable and of the possible are always a front in unstoppable motion.

The attainment of peace must be the common objective that must inspire all Men of good will who want to build a more just and compassionate world.

Religions are not there to divide us, but are an effective inspiration to the human conscience.

It is necessary to determine the prerequisites for a new way of organizing civil society, identify ways of fair distribution of income produced by the State, to  safeguard the weak and build a Society that  lay down the rules for its growth in prosperity and justice for all.

The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN

Is a Union, of international standing established to provide, under one umbrella, a meeting place for existing initiation orders, based on the traditional and symbolic landmarks, who operate in the Mediterranean Sea or to those who identify themselves with any of the different cultures developed around it.

The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN

Is committed to provide a common area of gathering, research and evaluation to Grand Lodges, individual groups, and individual lodges active in the countries of the Mediterranean Sea, without interference of any kind or manner in their organization and activities, in the full and inviolable respect for their identity, autonomy and responsibility;

Adopts the method of collective decisions and direction to achieve objectives of common interest. Promotes  an extensive participation in the general life, in the respect of Masonic traditions;

Does not bring up any question of recognition of Grand Lodges and Lodges that operate according to the Masonic tradition, and recognize the equal dignity of those who act for the enrichment of Man and asserts the fundamental relationship of the initiation Brotherhood and the Union of intent, and welcomes in Brotherhood those who have been ritually initiated;

Consists of the Grand Lodges, the Lodges, and individual brothers who freely decide to join it;

Adopts the principle of Federation and regulates its actions on the basis of mutual understandings and commitments;

Pursues the advancement of Man, the creation of the Brotherhood through the establishment of a permanent meeting place between the various Masonic Institutions in the Mediterranean States.

Promotes the Union of those who have undertaken the path of initiation, so that even in the secular world, Tolerance, Freedom, the overcoming of prejudice and discrimination would prevail.

Strives for dialogue among peoples, regardless of differences in the religion they practice, while expressing its option to monotheism, symbolized by the G:. A:. D:. U:.



Endorse the "UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS" (San Francisco, December 10, 1948) principles and agenda.

Endorse the resolutions of the UN "Declaration on the Rights of the Child" (Resolution No. 11,386-sixteenth of November 20, 1959), the "DECLARATION ON THE ELIMINATION OF ALL FORMS OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION" (Resolution No. XVIII of 1904-November 20 1963), the "DECLARATION OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN" (Resolution No. XXII of 2263-July 7, 1967), the "DECLARATION AGAINST TORTURE AND OTHER CRUEL INHUMAN OR TREATMENT OR PUNISHMENT" (Resolution No. 3452-XXX- December 9, 1975), and in general take on agreements or directives on human rights adopted by the UN and the European Community.

The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN

Was founded in Malta August 10 2011 with a deed duly filed, with the aim of creating an effective meeting place for Grand Lodges who operate in the Mediterranean region. Malta is in the heart of a sea that was the cradle of great world civilizations and is the frontier between East and West.

The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN

Aims to overturn any kind of opposition and set in motion mechanisms for peace between peoples. Six Grand Lodges are the basis of this structure: the Mediterranean Grand Lodge, the International Female Grand Lodge, the International Mediterranean Grand Lodge, the National Grand Lodge of Ancient Freemasons of Italy, the Grand Lodge of Sicily, the Orient De Canaan Grand Lodge, that has already signed up and can be considered co-founder, all united with the aim to draw the awareness of all Freemasons in the world, about the state of deep crisis faced by the entire community, in the conviction that Reason must dominate violence and that this change is the responsibility of the Universal Freemasonry.

FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES

Article 1

The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN ( in short G.O.M.) is an international association established to provide a meeting place to existing traditional and symbolic initiated Orders, , founded on the Landmarks, that operate in the countries of the Mediterranean region.

OBJECTIVES.

Article 2

The G.O.M., pursues the progress of Man, the realisation of the Fraternity through the institution of a permanent meeting place between the various Masonic Bodies of the countries of the Mediterranean region. Promote the union of those who have embarked the initiated path, so that even in the secular world, Tolerance, Freedom and the overcoming of discrimination and prejudice, will prevail.

Attributes high value to the individual and to human dignity, promotes and practice research, morality and modernisation in the true respect of the initiated traditions.

Will endeavour for a dialogue between monotheistic religions and renounce violent and unjust methods.

Endorse the agenda and principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (San Francisco 10 December 1948).

PROCEDURE

Article 3

The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN is committed to provide a common area for research and discussions to Grand Lodges, individual Lodges and individual groups that are present in the countries of the Mediterranean region without interference of any kind or manner in their organisation and activities, in the full and inviolable respect to their identity autonomy and responsibilities.

Article 4.

The G.O.M. adopts the method of collective decisions and course of actions to achieve objectives of common interest. Promotes an extensive participation in everyday life, in the respect of Masonic traditions.

Article 5.

All posts are by means of elections, based on representative participation.

Article 6.

The G.O.M. does not put any question regarding the recognition of Grand Lodges and Lodges that operate according to the Masonic traditions, and will give equal dignity to those who work for the accomplishment of Man and upholds the fundamental affinity of initiated Brotherhood and unison of understanding and welcomes in the Fraternity all those who have been initiated.

COMPOSITION

Article 7.

The G.O.M. is composed of the Grand Lodges, Lodges, and individual Brothers who request to become members.


Article 8.

The G.O.M. adopts the Federation principle and of co-operation and regulates its workings on the bases of reciprocal undertakings.


Article 9.

The G.O.M. can exchange of guaranties of Friendship and Fraternity and carry out dealings based on Treaties of Amity with Grand Lodges, world-wide, regularly constituted that observe the Fundamental Principles of Freemasonry, in the name of Universal Freemasonry.

STRUCTURE

Article 10

The G.O.M. is composed of Grand Lodges, Lodges and individual persons who their request for membership has been accepted by the Secretary (and afterwards, by the Council of Governors following its establishment) following an assessment of the correctness, of the honesty, of the repute, on behalf of the applicant; and of his ability to contribute morally and materially to the accomplishment of the goals of the Association.

Members can freely withdraw their membership following a written request to the Secretary (and afterwards, to the Council of Governors following its establishment), at least 3 months of the current year.

A member can be expelled following any grievous behaviour. The expulsion will have to be carried out by the Council of Governors, specifically motivated, and will be effective the moment of notification.


Article 11

The assets will be made up of the membership fees, of the movable and immovable property which might be acquired.

 

ORGANISATION

Article 12

The organisation of the G.O.M. is, the Assembly, the Council of Governors, the President, the General Secretary, and the General Treasurer.


Article 13

The first council of government is provisional, and consists of representatives (three in number) of the founders of Grand Lodges. With the access of the Grand Lodges of the Mediterranean countries will be established that the Assembly will elect the effective government junta, which will remain in office for five years, and can be re-elected if the Assembly wants.

The Board of Government shall elect the President.


Article 14

The Assembly shall consist of representatives from each Grand Lodge or Lodge that has joined in the number established by the government junta established.

The Assembly, which meets at least once a year and in any case the need arises, has a deliberative character. The sessions are valid on the first call in the presence of half plus one of members and, in second call, whatever the ones presents. It decides the matters on the agenda. The resolutions will be adopted by a majority the presents about ones.

The Assembly will then instruct the program about which will act as the Junta of Government.


Article 15

The government junta will operate in its autonomy on the basis of information provided by the Assembly, after having carefully examined the reports approved.

The Governing Board will review and approve the budget and final accounts of the fiscal year provided by the Treasurer General, will decide the exchange of Trustees of Friendship and Brotherhood and heal relationships with members of the Grand Lodges of the Mediterranean countries, will have the task of holding dialogues useful with all the Grand Lodges of the world.

The Board will elect the President of the Government as a common expression and harmony of all the members participating, the Treasurer-General will elect and decide on the admission or exclusion of members


Article 16

The President, an integral part of the government junta, is the common expression of all the harmonic components of the The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN collects instances of the Executive and the Assembly Government, and thus trace the "politics" of international relations , which will pass the scrutiny of the government junta, once approved, they will act in the autonomy of the representative role.

The President is the warrant of the unity of members of the The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN.


Article 17

The General Secretary directs the operative activities of the Grand Orient of the Mediterranean, and is responsible of its work before the government junta. He is elected by the Government as a consequence of the president’s proposal and holds office for 5 years.


Article 18

The Treasurer is responsible for administrative matters relating to the activities and initiatives undertaken by organizations of the The GRAND ORIENT of the MEDITERRANEAN.


Capital management - arising from membership shares - is under the control of the government junta. Government is elected by the Board and holds office for 5 years.

Pending the settlement of the Assembly, the duties and charges provided for by statute (as specified in art. 13) are assigned to the Founde

 


By deed, also registered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malta, in Malta was set up "The Supreme Council of the 33rd:. degree and last grade of the Sovereign Grand Inspector Generals of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for the Mediterranean Ordo Rosae Crucis - Mediterranean Jurisdiction", in charge of administration degrees from 4 to 33 and simultaneously to recognize the Grand Lodge constituents - Grand Lodge Mediterranean, International Mediterranean Grand Lodge, Grand Lodge of Sicily, the National Grand Lodge of Ancient Freemasons of Italy - along with all those who will follow the ratification of the MoU, the functions of sovereign authority and Regulars, the promoters of the recomposition of unified Masonic body of the Countries of the Mediterranean, which has jurisdiction for the administration of the first three degrees of Freemasonry of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite (Freemasonry called Blue), with the aim of extending the chain of Fraternal Union in all those other Obediences arranged established to recognize the "Supreme Council of the 33rd:. degree and last grade of the Sovereign Grand Inspector Generals of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for the Mediterranean Mediterranean Jurisdiction Ordo Rosae Crucis.

In accordance with its Grand Constitutions of 1786 and subsequent amendments, the Supreme Council of the 33rd and Last Degree Sovereign Grand Inspector Generals of the powerful, it endorses the aims and principles of Freemasonry Universal, and admits into its bosom only Freemasons from 4 to 33 degrees belonging to the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.

The brothers who belongs to the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite observe the practice of righteousness, the worship of Truth, Justice and Freedom, and act with tolerance and wisdom for the advancement and welfare of humanity and individual members.

Make of is own the principle of active non-violence (Love in Action) and affirms that love, brotherhood and equality are the indispensable basis for solving the problems of the world.

The understanding that "The Supreme Council of the 33rd:. degree and last grade of the Sovereign Grand Inspector Generals of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for the Mediterranean Ordo Rosae Crucis - Mediterranean Jurisdiction "aims to promote work in harmony with four universal laws, are: Love, Freedom, Equality, Fraternity.

The end of the first decade of the third millennium offers a scenario that is really complex to understand, owing to the enormous number of rapid changing factors with always the same elements looking like some really old cultural and social archetypes. The crisis of the dominating hegemonies of the last century, clear as to economic and geopolitical aspects, is now producing a world order based on the strengthening of new players, making foresee changing views of the power balances, with the rebound of the risks of conflicts not confined to specific areas and of dangerous instability in the relations between states and in the economic systems.

The indisputable fact of economic globalization has given a new meaning ​​to the prophecy of the "global village" created by the achievement of the new communication technologies. Today, the Earth looks like a planet that is now too narrow to allow the solution of problems connected with exponential population growth and to parallel lack of resources, environmental degradation, lack of institutions able to prevent and  overcome conflicts. In this context, we can see  the crisis of the West that in all the fields has always drawn the way of economic and cultural progress of the whole humanity: Greece, where the "Western Civilization" bases were born, will have probably to undersell its cultural symbols for impossibility to continue to finance its debt; USA, until a few years ago the defenders of democracy, even by exhausting and expensive armed conflicts, sees the most part of the titles of its debt held by the last country describing itself as "communist", the Republic of China. Opposite with reference to a billion people, we can attend the achievement of theocratic societies in which the spaces of cultural and political growth of population are confined within the narrow margins of Islamic law, finding its validation in the holy war towards the "unfaithful", to the West, materialized in the attacks from September 11th, 2011, until today.

In this context, the Mediterranean area concentrates within itself all the contradictions of the moment, with the risk to become in the near future the detonator of fatal and certainly not circumscribed events, for the presence of the State of Israel within an Islamic fundamentalist and radical context. It’s laughable the stabilizing role Europe wants to pursue, as the intrinsic weakness of the diplomats. There is a few number of elements in the uneven and really unstable sphere of the élites in progress in the states of North Africa, that can contribute to re-create some new, different relationships with West, thinning the menacing shadows of affirmation rather than positions of "war holy".

That’s the present, which the future?

The attitudes of the ones who think it’s necessary to build a bridge between the two sides of the Mediterranean through the use of inter-religious dialogue are inadequate and out of time: something causing a conflict, unlikely can offer solutions based on simple good will only. They need something different, out of any ideological schema within which diversity can not be exorcised, but just hypocritically unmentioned; nor the traditional international assistance institutions, such as the UN, are right to imagine some solution, because the logic of opposite interests, of vetoes, of the hegemonic ambitions ends by creating the inaction or the mere prevarication.

At the global level, there is just one Institution that is universal by definition, able to transcend the particularisms of religious and political firm beliefs, the FREEMASONRY: a free association of initiates who has always dedicated his work in the Temple to improve man for the well and progress of the whole humanity.

The Grand Lodge of Sicily together with the four Grand Lodges founding the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for the Mediterranean, Ordo Rosae Crucis, the jurisdiction of the Mediterranean, has shown a new way to take "back into their natural locus of the rivers flowing into the oldest sea": the creation of the Grand Orient of the Mediterranean, an opportunity to take a common way, if we still believe in the high value of the Universal Brotherhood.

The Spirit of the single Man-Mason has to be sharp on the growth of all men, that is why we consider extremely important the union of the main schools of thought of the Spirit.

We think we will exceed the limit of the material things thinking to the brevity of life and the certainty of death.

That is why the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite for the Mediterranean, Ordo Rosae Crucis jurisdiction of the Mediterranean, takes possession of  the project of the constitution of the Grand Orient of Mediterranean by Grand Lodges that  are their base: it wants to move with a new spirit with reference to the novelty and complexity of today's problems, to create into the populations of the compassionate openness towards the others, towards different people, underlining the value ​​of dialogue and mutual tolerance.

Even if the difficulty and importance of this feat, from this conviction we want to make an appeal to FREE MEN, because they all contribute to form the GRAND ORIENT OF THE MEDITERRANEAN, where a development is possible, going beyond the ordinary contingency of the individual interests, by definition the only possible place for the training of the NEW MAN, having the role to teach to the whole humanity the difficult way to follow, regardless of skin color and political or religious beliefs.

This is the future we're building. It comes from the necessity of the present.

Even if many people will think to it like an ambitious attempt to get together at all costs what we have lost, the GRAND ORIENT OF THE MEDITERRANEAN is the only way that today, for tomorrow, may be taken.

That is why the GRAND ORIENT OF THE MEDITERRANEAN wants to work with a renewed spirit, prompted by the novelty and complexity of today's problems, to create into population the compassionate openness towards the others, towards different people, underlining the values ​​of dialogue and mutual tolerance.

Everyone needs to express himself without violence, not imposing truth.

This is the way that Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite for the Mediterranean, Ordo ab Chao, Rosae Crucis Ordo-Mediterranean Jurisdiction stated and state to the Brothers of every Order and degree, in the specificity of their roles, this is the future that we have chosen, flowing from this troubled present, we feel to comply, like a clear duty.

During the centuries, the Mediterranean Sea from meeting point of cultures, giving rise to the great Civilizations of the world, has become a place of conflict of the same Civilizations, that have lost on the way the sacred feeling of Tolerance and the essential dialogue.

The most important monotheistic religions, born from spirituality distinguishing man from animal, have been used to divide Man from the Supreme, instead of bringing them.

Freemasonry, which in the past has rigorously stayed out of any religious confession (even if it do not admit atheists), has always kept alive the Spirituality of its rituals to raise temples to the Virtues of the Man and dig deep ditches to his Vices.

Today, the Mediterranean has to go back and take the role of "meeting and dialogue place". But this task will be not only a prerogative of the diplomats of the Countries facing our ancient sea. In fact, too often their actions broke against the high walls of churches, mosques and synagogues.

It is a world of different cultures that need to find a common ground, a common will that is expressed through a voice that speaks the common language of wisdom.

And then, once again, it will be up to Mason to draw the line between white and black, to give back to the Mediterranean people the power of primordial thought that was the example for everybody.

Religions have not to be what separates but an effective stimulus to awake the human conscience.

The achievement of a peaceful social, economic and religious coexistence has to be the common objective which should animate all the Men of good will, aiming for a jointly liable, fairest world. Men have to work for one purpose only: to determine the conditions for a new organization of the civil society, to find how to allocate best the income produced by his country, defending the weak individuals and working for a society that is able to give some roles for its growth in welfare and general justice.

In our workshops, we will always repeat that Institution is not a guarantee of development, welfare and respect of the man; only  Brotherhood allows to leave the perspective showing the others always just " the others".

To The Glory of the Great Architect of the Universe

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

We really need to abandon our secular silence because aware that the Great Architect of the path for us has different roads leading to him, and only he will have the immense weight to let us to go there according to his plans.

Leave our secular silence because we are really sure that it’s important for us, free creatures and desiring the good of our sisters, brothers, we can give the hand during the ground path, while maintaining our path because we do not believe that doing good and progress of humanity it’s necessary an exclusive licence of “right people”.

We Believe, instead , that anyone who wants to identify him self with positive values and good action has the right to do this with the means in which he believes or that he has but, above all, to do this with those who, although they are “different” because of culture, religion, shares the same objectives.

We have always suffered the ignominy of injury, the attack, discredit, but we were working but in silence.

We put the human miseries off without give them back to who put it against us, because we believe in the spiritual elevation of humanity and in tolerance, and if that means being Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists or whatever, then we’ll be happy to be.

Because the Massoneria is not a religion and we want, from the depths of our hearts, that all heads of the world would realize that we are not competing with anyone, except with ourselves for our improvement and for the whole of humanity.

If in the past people of God or the Massoneria have done mistakes against the next or another, this doesn’t mean that faith or Masonry are wrong, but simply that the human being as such creature is imperfect but free to make mistakes or to rise up. We all strive to make the best possible towards the light.

This balustrade, dear brothers and sisters, because we want to go out of the terrible scourge mutual misunderstanding, the end does not justify the means, but it is absolutely superior to them.

We Want to tell you with these words that being different is a good thing and a richness and that the only fact that we colud talk with different people could lead to discover common elements without having necessarily claim to have the upper solution.

After all, if the great architect of the path left us free wont be perhaps because he loved us and loves us so much that we can come to him in many ways? Isn’t a divine surprise that we speak different languages and have different cultures, but we all have the same body? It’s a divine wonder!

And then, dear brothers and sisters, we don’t have to be ashamed because we are  so different but we have to work for the same cause: to serve humanity. We have to be ashamed instead to leave the world to the barbarity of ignorance of violence to please our human desire to be better than others, so that the words do not remain symple statements, we must keep the door open for dialogue without any foreclosures.

The powerful must look with new eyes that those that aren’t so lucky and is available to show solidarity: their position does not change, but you can open a gate in mutual misunderstandings and conflicts which generate only intolerance and hatred. It’s necessary that will be recognized to all human beings, whatever their race and condition, dignity and equality of space, the conquest of a civil society while respecting the roles that the human intellect grants.

The barriers between nations have to drop, in order to allow the free exchange of culture, ideas, experiences that offer new economic methods to achieve common goals. We Need to find means and instruments to eradicate poverty in which debated the countries marginalized by the development.

Religions may not be the ones who separates, but effective stimulus for the awakening of conscience. It is necessary to determine the conditions for a new way to organize civil society, to find arrangements for equitable distribution of income produced by the country for the protection of the most vulnerable and build a more just society.

To do this is not enough work consistently in their field: is important the  Commitment that each Massone can express  , projected towards a possible change and govern. Today that the European community is a reality operational, and the countries of the Mediterranean basin his back to buy a strategic position become link between the Western world and the eastern world, two realities still distant one another, separated by socio diversity economic flows also contrasts with the nature of war.

In the chaos surrounding the western and the  eastern world, it is possible to distinguish some clear changes of time whose origin is unknown to us, as well as to most part of people. But we think these changes do not depend on the communities involved, even when they think to be the first actors of fundamental events. The task we introduced Masons have given to ourselves pushes us to find solutions to Humanity find its balance, whatever, but within the pentalpha of the deep roots of human nature. We have lost that balance for a long time.

Despite the disappointments we have suffered during our journey, for several years we have tried to renew the spirit of Brotherhood, sadly forgotten by most part of the Masons. Everybody are intent on attending to business and political interests and solidarity which should join Men is absent. And so it is with the enthusiastic spirit of the neophyte that we proceed in our project to join what we lost. Not without efforts, we have created some ways that so-called men of good will can use.

We do not try to find contrasts. The Grand Lodge of Sicily tells the brothers that they can not accept the Castes, as they do not work for welfare of the Humanity, but only for their affairs.

We know that the principles of Freemasonry are Universal, but today Universality does not exist, there are too many contrasts.

We created the Grand Orient of the Mediterranean to join, we have created it as a common Home of all Freemasons of the Mediterranean, not to contrast the Grand Lodges Mothers, but to finish the work made by the Grand Lodges Mothers, denying so the Universality of Freemasonry. The ones who want to live in this fraternizing House is welcome, it is his House; the ones feeling "subjects" and not Free Men have a different path from ours. This could hurt us, but if to the Man the Great Architect of the Universe has given the gift of "free choice", "free will", surely there is a reason, and we respect the wishes of the Great Architect of the Universe.

We talk and carry on talking thinking to the future, but what future we can expect if current problems are not solved?

The global reality, daily described by media, launches warning signs that are deliberately ignored but that from several years are known to this Zenith.

In unsuspected times and through documents launched in the net, we have predicted the occurrence of episodes that were the sons of far historical periods, but that were ready to happen creating situations of social and economic instability. Now the facts prove we are right, confirming that our analyzes were based on the reading of episodes and contingencies to which this Rite had given the right interpretation.

After globalization, distance have been cancelled and all populations have joined, giving raise both to a growth in demand and a decrease of social and economic resources. Even rich countries like European ones are in emergency; Greece, which was the cradle of civilization, both social and economic, today is the clearest example.

This crisis has opened the way for new protagonists like China, India and Iran, and allowed the rulers of those countries, making of theocracy their winning weapon, to take and maintain power. Not financially able to lift the fortunes of the people they lead, they manipulate religion by imposing specific behaviors arising  from ignorance and not from true interpretation of religion.

On these bases, the Mediterranean has been transformed into a tinderbox ready to explode at the sound of the trumpets of fundamentalism.

Aforetime, Europe was a stabilizing factor, unfortunately today the plethora of problems distressing it do not allow it to create relationships between its static and old world with the explosive and in progress one of all those countries living on the shores of the Mediterranean.

We believe that in this point of time only the Masonic institution can become the leader and a way of redemption for all those who want to be free Men, who believe in well and progress of humanity.

It is a long time we talk about Humanism as a spiritual movement awakening the conscience and contributing to the construction of a New Man who can become a beacon for all populations, whichever their political or religious ideas may be.

The brothers have understood that the answer to the problems distressing the world is not deferrable. In this context, all the projects having common objectives (even if they start from different experiences and operations, and intending to direct the efforts of all free and good men in an attempt to resume to try to take again a common walking along the shores of a sea, our "Mare Nostrum", but that will become of "everybody") will have the sole objective of the reconstruction of the Universal Brotherhood.

In the era of globalization, the common opinion says that the problems distressing the world can be overcome by using only economic and financial solutions, without taking into account all those "values" referring to the centrality of the Man. Concentration of wealth and marginalization of the weaker communities lead inevitably to disaster. The excess can be faced by a process of "New Humanism" that can allow Men to be active and not passive, giving to man the size of the "end", without being a "half".

Today, it is possible to start a process of reconciliation between science and philosophy, unfortunately separated for centuries both in practice and in their language, thinking about a reconstruction of thought and values, rediscovering the meaning of Unity of Knowledge.

It’s necessary to go back to the essence from which "science" and "philosophy" were born, go back to "natural philosophy" (including science and philosophy), developed twenty-five centuries ago on the eastern shores of the Mediterranean: from that "enlightened" time these two scientific schools of thought have followed their way, underlining the growing gap of their respective languages, and going far from the common Man, Philosophy cl0sing itself almost in the strength of their processing; Science, in the power acquired through the development of technologies.

In this Third Millennium, a reconciliation between Philosophy and Science is essential and should take everything to the Unity of Knowledge, to make the Man has a perspective. Metaphysical entities as Time, Number, Spirit, Matter, Mind, considered out of the reach of the common Man, should open some new openings, to imagine a better and harmonious world.

Therefore, it is urgent a modern language to be able to communicate without barriers and to redefine power relationships within the human Community.
